A Story About a Spider.

Every morning, I went to the park for a quick jog. One day, as I was running around the circular track, I noticed a spider in an amazing position. The cobweb it had built on the barbed wire fence adjacent to the running track was a sight to behold.

The spider was on the inside of the fence, so it was difficult to reach. I stopped running for a while and watched it pass by. Although I found spiders to be a little repulsive, I didn’t want to kill it as I considered them to be beneficial animals.

As the weeks went by, I could see the spider growing rapidly. Its web was always full of food, and it had grown to the size of more than two human fingers, making it easy to notice without paying attention.

One day, the spider that had been eating and living well disappeared. The spider web was left in ruins. I couldn’t see the spider anywhere. I searched the nearby area, but it was nowhere to be found.

Tall poppy gets cut down.

Those who achieve success are often targeted by others who are jealous and envious of their achievements. “tall poppy syndrome” is a common phenomenon in both personal and professional contexts, where competitors may try to put successful individuals or businesses down using various tactics.

When it comes to achieving personal success, it is common to encounter individuals who become fiercely envious if you are recognized and awarded a prominent position with a good salary by your boss.

Additionally, if you talk about your success and money through online platforms like YouTube and attract a considerable amount of attention, you will inevitably attract detractors and become a target of their envy.

Some of these individuals may even observe and imitate your success, becoming your new competition, and finding ways to undermine your efforts by making accusations of illegal activity or reporting you to government agencies.

As a result, it is not uncommon for those who have experienced success to withdraw from the public eye at some point.

In the corporate world, startups and small businesses that attract attention before they are strong enough may be uprooted by competitors. The only way for a small business to compete against larger corporations is to remain unnoticed by their competitors, and focus on developing a superior product or technology.

In conclusion, the principle of the “tall poppy syndrome” is a reality that we must navigate in our personal and professional lives. Inevitably, anyone who strives to succeed will encounter those who will try to bring them down.

To succeed and be the envy of others, one must be overwhelming in their achievements. This can make it difficult for detractors to do anything to harm or impede their progress.

Generally, it’s always a good strategy to remain unnoticed by those who can manipulate or harm you.

In the case of the spider, it would have lived longer if it had maintained its position at a reasonable size. Maintaining a low profile while still achieving success can make it difficult for detractors to target you, and can ultimately help you sustain your success for longer.

Thank you.
