An employee of a Chinese corporation committed a crime in the last 2-3 months, and it is currently unknown if it is related to Chinese authorities.
On February 15th, ASML, the world’s top semiconductor exposure equipment manufacturer, announced that all employees of its Chinese subsidiary stole confidential product-related information.
Since 2019, ASML has been unable to export its state-of-the-art extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography equipment worldwide due to the Dutch government’s disapproval, but continues to supply the previous generation deep ultraviolet (DUV) lithography equipment.
This is the second data leak related to China from ASML in the past year.
